Big thing Cristiano Ronaldo did for iShowSpeed after Al-Nassr celebrations

iShowSpeed was seen leading the celebrations after Al-Nassr’s recent 5-1 win over Al-Fateh, with the streamer’s favourite player, Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the second goal in the routine victory.

Al-Nassr continued their perfect start to the Saudi Pro League season on Saturday evening, winning their fifth game on the spin, which leaves them four points clear of nearest rivals Al-Hilal at the top of the table.

iShowSpeed was in attendance, with the American well-known to be a super-fan of Ronaldo, and the forward, who is still regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, rewarded the 20-year-old, scoring Al-Nassr’s second goal of the game on the hour mark.

After the game, the Twitch streamer was directed to lead the celebrations by the 40-year-old, who instructed him how to play the drum, with the clip subsequently going viral.

It is not the first interaction iShowSpeed has had with his idol, with a video of the two meeting a little over two years ago racking up over 25 million views.

Speed’s love of the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend stems from a £1.79 donation to his stream over three years ago, which has been credited as a life-changing moment for the Cincinnati-born streamer.

With the Al-Nassr star clearly thankful for the support, he has now followed iShowSpeed on Instagram and even posted him on his story to his 666 million followers.

Fans of the duo will be hoping the gesture could lead to a collaboration of sorts in the future, although the streamer, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr, has made it clear he doesn’t want to meet his idol on stream.

Ronaldo at the top of his game ahead of 2026 World Cup

There was an expectation that the 2022 World Cup may be the Portugal star’s last, but he is showing no signs of slowing down, having scored six goals for Al-Nassr already this season, taking his tally to 99 in 112 appearances.

The legendary forward has also continued to impress at international level, most recently bagging a brace in a 2-2 draw at home against Hungary, although his side were denied early qualification as a result of Dominik Szoboszlai’s late equaliser.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s longevity can only be commended, but given that he is now 40-years-old, the 2026 World Cup will surely be the former Real Madrid man’s last opportunity to get his hands on one of the only trophies that has eluded him…

Chelsea may push to sign "world-class" Sanchez replacement, Maresca's a fan

Chelsea could push to sign a “world-class” Robert Sanchez replacement in the January transfer window, after the goalkeeper’s disastrous performance against Manchester United.

Sanchez sent off in Man Utd defeat

The Blues suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon, succumbing to a 2-1 loss against Man United at Old Trafford, with Sanchez’s early dismissal making the task considerably more difficult.

The Spaniard saw red just five minutes into the game, after bringing down Bryan Mbeumo when the forward was through on goal, with Enzo Maresca criticising his goalkeeper for the tackle in his post-match interview.

Maresca looked at replacing Sanchez in the summer, with the west Londoners being linked with a number of goalkeepers, and the Italian may now be regretting his decision not to bring in an upgrade.

As such, according to a report from The Express, Chelsea could now push to sign AC Milan’s Mike Maignan in the January transfer window, with a view to bringing him in on a free at the end of the season.

Maignan was known to be a target for the Blues in the summer, with Maresca said to be a fan, viewing the goalkeeper as an ideal fit for his style of play, and there are signs that a deal could be possible.

The Frenchman was persuaded to remain at the San Siro during the summer, but the Italian club have since made no progress in talks over a new deal, potentially giving Maresca’s side the opportunity to sign him on a free transfer.

"World-class" Maignan could be upgrade on Sanchez

There are indications the Milan shot-stopper could be an upgrade on Sanchez, given that he has averaged fewer goals against per 90 over the past year, while he is also impressive with the ball at his feet.

Chelsea now set to open talks to sign "baller", Maresca thinks he's ideal

The Blues are planning to enter discussions to sign a new midfielder.

The 30-year-old has averaged 43.02 touches per 90 over the past year, compared to 40.04 from Chelsea’s current goalkeeper, which suggests the Milan captain is comfortable in possession of the ball.

Journalist Carlo Garganese has also been left impressed by the 34-time France international in the past, describing him as “world-class” after putting in a solid performance in the Milan derby.

Sanchez has made far too many mistakes over an extended time period, making three errors leading to goals in the Premier League last season, so it is no wonder Chelsea are looking at bringing in a replacement, and Maignan could be a fantastic option.

Liverpool now eyeing "significantly" cheaper DM than Baleba and Wharton

Liverpool’s lavish spending this summer has given them one of the best starting elevens in Europe. New signings like Hugo Ekitiké and Alexander Isak have elevated their attack from players like Darwin Núñez and Luis Diaz, who struggled at times last season.

However, even with their big spend, there is still room for them to improve in January and next summer. On deadline day, they secured the signing of Isak but failed to get a deal for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi over the line.

Centre-back is one of the positions where the squad is thinnest, and when Virgil Van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are out, they only have Joe Gomez and new youngster Giovanni Leoni as naturals in the position. Guehi will be available as a free agent next summer, but Real Madrid are now looking to snatch him up.

Another position that needs some reinforcement is the deeper part of the midfield. Alexis Mac Allister, Dominic Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch are the three most common faces in midfield, but when they’re rotated, options are only really Curtis Jones and Wataru Endo, with the latter often being utilised in a makeshift defensive role.

Due to this, the Premier League champions are looking at bringing in another midfielder so they can compete across the Champions League and the domestic competitions.

Stiller the new name in midfield hunt

A number of midfielders have been linked with the Liverpool midfield role next summer but a new name in contention is Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller. On Liverpool’s 2026 summer transfer business, transfer journalist Graham Bailey said: “In my opinion, Liverpool are going to want another CDM next year, a top-class one.

“Angelo Stiller would do that role, but I do personally wonder whether Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton would be higher up in the pecking order; obviously, they would come with significantly higher price tags. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see Liverpool getting involved in those conversations a bit more.”

Stiller is currently valued at around £40 million, but Wharton and Baleba could both be double that or even more. In the summer, Manchester United decided not to pursue the Brighton midfielder after it was made clear they wouldn’t drop their asking price below £100 million.

Stiller indicates shift in desired profile

The shift in focus from Wharton and Baleba to Stiller is not just a monetary change but a stylistic one. Wharton and Baleba’s strengths lie defensively, whereas Stiller is more of a ball-playing footballer, more in the vein of Pedri, who FBREF rank as a similar profile.

Based on these metrics, it seems that Liverpool is after a different profile midfielder rather than a cheaper one. Slot is clearly looking for a player who can play the ball well and support with ball progression.

This season has demonstrated that even the midfielders who would be expected to be contributing defensively, like Gravenberch, are also expected to contribute in attack. While Slot’s side has conceded a significant amount of goals this season, they are winning games by outscoring teams, and this may be why there has been a shift in target to a midfielder like Stiller.

Enzo Maresca calling £60m star with Chelsea ready to give him £250k-a-week

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been calling a highly-rated player in the build up to deadline day as he looks to tempt him with a Stamford Bridge move, according to an intriguing new report.

The west Londoners are prioritising a new attacker as we fast approach this year’s summer transfer cut-off, and they’ve held extensive talks for two stars in particular.

Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho is clamoring for a move to Chelsea, having already told friends that he’ll be joining Maresca’s side (talkSPORT), and personal terms are believed to be fully agreed.

Meanwhile, RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons has also agreed terms with Chelsea, but the Bundesliga side and Blues are yet to shake hands on a club-to-club deal, as is also the case with Garnacho.

Chelsea-Garnacho-Maresca

If Maresca had to choose one or the other, he’d select Garnacho, as his priority is a winger, but deals for either one of the pair still centre around Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku finding new clubs.

It isn’t simply a case of Simons or Garnacho, either, as credible reports now claim that Chelsea have reached out and contacted the representatives of Barcelona star Fermin Lopez (David Ornstein).

Lopez has become a star at the Camp Nou since Hansi Flick’s arrival last year, scoring eight goals and bagging 10 assists in 46 total appearances last year as Barça went on to clinch a domestic treble.

The Spaniard has emerged as an alternative to Simons if they cannot get a deal done for him, even if the Leipzig ace is still their priority as things stand, although this could change pretty quickly (Simon Phillips).

Chelsea ready to nearly triple Fermin Lopez's salary as Enzo Maresca calls him

According to Spanish news outlet Sport, and journalist Jordi Gil, Chelsea are ready to nearly triple Lopez’s current salary if they pivot towards the 21-year-old as their top playmaker target.

Lopez earns around £99,000-per-week in Catelonia right now, but Maresca’s side would hand him a contract of around £250,000-per-week in west London – which comes as surprising, given Chelsea aren’t known to shatter their wage structure on players.

What’s more, Maresca is believed to be personally calling Lopez over a move to Chelsea, so there is serious intent from the tactician to land him, not to mention admiration.

All of this means Lopez is starting to reconsider his future after previously stating he would remain at Barca, and Chelsea are apparently prepared to offer Flick’s side around £50 million for his services.

However, they’re still some way off the mark, as the La Liga champions are demanding £60 million.

Phil Parkinson awarded Freedom of Wrexham in recognition of guiding Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's team to three successive promotions

Phil Parkinson now has the Freedom of Wrexham County Borough after taking the Red Dragons from the National League to the EFL Championship under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The manager admitted the honour made the club's achievements 'hit home', as Wrexham continue their remarkable rise in pursuit of one day playing Premier League football.

Parkinson awarded Freedom of Wrexham

Wrexham councillors unanimously voted in favour of Parkinson receiving the Freedom of the Wrexham County Borough after their record-breaking 2024-25 campaign. The 57-year-old has overseen three straight promotions, the first time in English Football League history that a club has achieved such a feat. His recognition comes a year after Reynolds and McElhenney were given the same honour following their area-defining investment.

"It's a great honour, it's very humbling to be given the award," said Parkinson. "I really enjoyed going down to the Guildhall and being in the meeting with all of the councillors because sometimes as a manager you're in a bubble and you don't get a chance to reflect. But listening to people speak about the impact of the club on the area since Rob and Ryan have been here and the success, and people talking about their great memories over the last four years was fantastic, it made me feel very humble.

"It really hit home to me the impact on the club's success on the city itself and the surrounding area. We are at the heart of the community, the football club is all about that, long before we came, how important the football is to the community. Rob and Ryan's understanding of that is incredibly well-received.

"All along, we've stressed that it comes from the top that as much as Wrexham has got a global appeal, the most important thing is the local businesses, the local people who have supported the club through some tough times and feel that connection. I feel that that's been achieved and long may it continue."

Parkinson's accolade highlights the extraordinary transformation Wrexham have enjoyed since Reynolds and McElhenney's 2021 takeover. The club's rise through the divisions has captured global attention, primarily through the international success of , while strengthening ties with the local community. His words reflect the ethos of ensuring the team's story resonates as much in the North Wales region as it does worldwide.

Wrexham toiling in the Championship

Wrexham will now look to consolidate their position in the Championship following back-to-back-to-back promotions. Parkinson is determined to maintain the momentum as the Red Dragons continue working on their dream of playing in the Premier League. However, the latest step up has been tough and the team sit 16th in the table, after two wins from six league outings. The play-off berths are only four points ahead, but the relegation zone is just half that gap behind.

Fulham now open talks to sign "outstanding" £20m forward with 123 PL goals

Fulham have now opened talks over a deal to sign an “outstanding” Premier League forward, who looks poised to leave his club this summer, according to a report.

Cottagers vying to sign new attackers

Rodrigo Muniz’s future at Craven Cottage has been cast into doubt, with Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur being named as potential suitors, which means Marco Silva may be tasked with bringing in a new striker before the transfer window ends.

Genk centre-forward Tolu Arokodare was named as a potential target earlier in the window, while midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was also on the shortlist. However, it now appears as though the Englishman is poised to join Everton instead.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte is the only addition Silva has made to his squad up to this point, in what has been a frustrating window so far, but a promising new report suggests the Cottagers are now stepping up their pursuit of an experienced Premier League forward.

Indeed, according to FourFourTwo, Fulham have now opened talks over a deal for Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, who looks set to leave the Blues this summer, given that the Blues have already removed his biography from their club website.

Chelsea are hoping to receive £20m for Sterling, who still has two years remaining on his contract, meaning a deal for the winger would not break the bank, although it would be a risk to bring him in, given that the former Arsenal loanee flattered to deceive last season.

"Outstanding" Sterling could reignite career at Fulham

The 82-time England international did not make the desired impact on loan at the Emirates Stadium last season, failing to find the back of the net in 17 Premier League outings, while also being unable to solidify his place as a regular starter, despite Mikel Arteta’s backing.

That said, the former Manchester City man is clearly a hugely talented player, having scored 123 goals in the Premier League, and Paul Merson even praised the forward for a performance during his time with Chelsea, describing him as “absolutely outstanding”.

PSV's Walter Benitez saves Raheem Sterling's effort for Arsenal.

Having spent the last three seasons in London, across spells with Chelsea and Arsenal, a move to Craven Cottage could appeal to Sterling this summer, and playing for a club where he would be more likely to receive consistent game time could suit him down to the ground.

That said, it would be a risk for Fulham to pursue a deal, given that the 30-year-old clearly isn’t the player he once was.

Contact made: Bayern Munich send offer to another £150k-a-week Liverpool ace

Having so far failed in their pursuit of Luis Diaz, Bayern Munich have now reportedly presented an offer to sign another Liverpool star this summer.

After flying out the blocks to spend big in the early weeks of the summer transfer window, Liverpool could now spend the next month or so clearing any deadwood remaining at the club. Already, they’ve opened the exit door to sell Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah in efficient fashion, and the likes of Darwin Nunez could be the next.

The South American has been linked with a move to Napoli in recent weeks and once they’ve sold Victor Osimhen, it could be all guns blazing towards a move to sign the Liverpool striker ahead of next season. In Nunez’s case, all parties are likely to be willing to sanction a sale at whatever is deemed fair price following a tough three-year spell at the club.

But to say that same reluctance isn’t quite there in Diaz’s case would be an understatement. As far as Liverpool are reportedly concerned, the winger is not for sale and Bayern’s first offer, worth around £45m, was incredibly wide of the mark, with a second offer of around £59m since rejected as well.

With just two years left on his current contract, Liverpool’s stance on Diaz’s future remains surprising, especially given that a fresh deal remains unlikely to arrive with the player keen to leave.

Bayern, meanwhile, are reportedly still keen to deal those at Anfield a major blow on the exit front and have now turned their attention towards another star man.

Bayern present first offer to Mac Allister

According to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich have now presented an offer to Alexis Mac Allister, who has already handed them their latest rejection this summer. Whether the Bundesliga champions decide to come again in a second attempt remains to be seen, but even so, they may not be the Reds’ biggest concern.

Instead, reports are suggesting that Real Madrid could be loitering once again. The Spanish giants have, of course, already taken Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool and Ibrahima Konate also remains on their reported radar. Now, even though he is committed to the Premier League champions as things stand, Mac Allister may have an eventual decision to make.

Alexis Mac Allister celebrates for Liverpool

Losing the £150,000-a-week Argentine would undoubtedly deal the Reds a major blow, and Arne Slot is well aware of his importance.

The Liverpool boss told reporters after his side clinched the Premier League title last season: “(He’s a) very important player, (has) game intelligence (and is) so comfortable on the ball, but what makes him even more special to me is normally players that have so much game inside and are so comfortable on the ball are not as aggressive and intense without the ball.”

Florida weatherwatch: Last three Group A games set to be affected

A tropical disturbance has brought a rare flash flood emergency to southern Florida, including to Broward County, where the matches are scheduled

ESPNcricinfo staff13-Jun-2024The weather may have a big part to play at the T20 World Cup 2024 over the coming days in Florida, where three Group A matches are scheduled over the next three days. A tropical disturbance has brought a rare flash flood emergency to much of southern Florida, including in Broward County where the venue for the matches – in Lauderhill – is located. The first World Cup match at the venue – Nepal vs Sri Lanka – was washed out, and three more fixtures – USA vs Ireland, Canada vs India and Ireland vs Pakistan – could also be affected, with the forecast suggesting heavy rain all through.According to the US National Weather Service (NWS), a “flood watch” remains in effect for all of southern Florida through Friday evening. The matches are set to be played at 10.30am local time.”Heavy to excessive rainfall over southern Florida may continue to bring areas of flash and urban flooding, with locally considerable urban flooding possible, at times into this weekend,” the NWS posted on X.

While India have sealed their Super Eight spot after beating USA on Wednesday, the rest of the teams in Group A – USA, Canada, Ireland and Pakistan – will be fighting it out for the other spot.As things stand, all four teams can still mathematically qualify. The 2022 T20 World Cup finalists Pakistan have won just one of their three games so far, but can go through to the next round if they beat Ireland and USA lose to them. If either of these is washed out, then USA, who have two wins, will qualify. Canada (one win from three) and Ireland (no wins from two) are lower on the table. The washout on June 11 affected Group D as well, leaving Sri Lanka and Nepal on the brink of elimination.A minimum of five overs is required to constitute a match and there are no reserve days for the group-stage matches. The first semi-final and the final have reserve days but the second semi-final doesn’t, as there is only a day’s gap between that match and the final.
